Manchester City are ready to offer Kyle Walker a two-year contract to stay at the Etihad Stadium following his spectacular return to Pep Guardiola's team and winning the treble.

The 33-year-old Walker appeared to have an uncertain future in April when he lost his usual place at the City team and Guardiola admitted he could not play as a midfielder in the new system in which one defender moved forward.

But the England international returned to Guardiola's plans and scored in a Champions League win over Real Madrid, appearing in seven consecutive games before coming off the bench when a treble was recorded in Istanbul.

Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel is eyeing Walker if Benjamin Pavard leaves the Allianz Arena this summer, but with one year left on his Etihad contract, City would like to see he stayed and went on with his six brilliant matches. seasons in the club.

Although City have not commented on Walker's situation, they are believed to be open to discussions on a new two-year deal that shows his position in the team as players in their 30s are frequently renewed year after year.

Guardiola has said players are free to explore other options if they wish to leave City for a new challenge, and so far there has been no indication of where Walker sees his immediate future.

He remains England's first choice after World Cup participation, and his end-of-season performances confirmed him as one of Europe's elite right-backs, with Guardiola insisting he still remains one of the best is best in a flat back four or as a right centre-back.

During his absence from the team, he started in three of the 11 games as City chased their treble.

But he was in the starting lineup for the Final FA Cup and revealed when he was named on the bench in the Champions League final that he was disappointed but gave a speech in the dressing room to other players about how much the club meant to him.
