Unlike the donor Toyota model, the new Suzuki is only available with a hybrid setup.
Indian company Maruti Suzuki («daughter» of Suzuki) introduced the Invicto minivan today. The monocab was not designed from scratch — it is a clone of the new generation Toyota Innova (in India, such an MPV bears the name Hycross, and the frame predecessor is still in service there). Toyota and Suzuki have been cooperating for a long time, they already have several “joint” models, among them are the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Suzuki Grand Vitara crossovers, Toyota Glanza and Suzuki Baleno hatchbacks.

Outwardly, the Suzuki Invicto van differs from the original Toyota in a radiator grill, plus a slightly retouched front bumper. The optics switched from Innova, but at the same time, the diode stuffing was still replaced in the headlights and lanterns. Inside the cars repeat each other, the only difference is in the colors of the seat upholstery and finishing materials. Both minivans are available with eight or seven seats, with the latter having separate captain's chairs in the middle.
< p>Recall that in the new generation Toyota Innova lost its frame and rear-wheel drive: the minivan is based on the front-wheel drive GA-C bogie, the engine is located transversely, not longitudinally, McPherson struts are now instead of double wishbones in front, and semi-independent suspension instead of the rear axle. The dimensions of the two vans are the same: length — 4755 mm, width — 1845 or 1850 mm (depending on the version), height — 1790 or 1795 mm, wheelbase — 2850 mm.
1/3 2/3 3/3The original Toyota model in India was offered both with a 2.0 petrol aspirator (174 hp) and as a “simple” hybrid with the same two-liter engine, electric motor and electromechanical variator (total output — 186 hp). But it was decided to sell Suzuki Invicto exclusively with a gas-electric installation. The drive is in any case only front.

It is curious that the Suzuki van is positioned as a “premium”, it is presented in a separate Nexa dealer network, while the Invicto is available in only two trim levels — and they are not the richest. The base MPV has 17-inch wheels, an 8-inch multimedia system, front and side airbags, curtain airbags, climate control, a rearview camera and cruise control. In the second version, all-round cameras, a panoramic sunroof and multimedia with a 10.1-inch tablet appear.
But what Suzuki didn't get was chairs with retractable footrests (in the second row) , adaptive cruise, auto-braking, lane keeping and blind spot monitoring (the top-end Toyota Innova Hycross minivan has all this stuff).
