Harry Kane could sign a £400,000-a-week deal if Ange Postekogoulou convinces him to stay at Tottenham.

Harry Kane will be able to earn £400,000 a week while staying at Tottenham Hotspur and is gearing up for his first meeting with new head coach Ange Postekoglou.

Postekoglou admits he hasn't received any guarantees about his future Kane ahead of his return to Wednesday's pre-season practice.

Bayern Munich want to sign Kane this summer, but Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has no hope of convincing the 29-year-old to sign a new contract.

Kane has given no indication that he will extend his contract after the upcoming season, but if he did, Telegraph Sport understands Tottenham would be willing to pay him up to £400,000 a week.

However, it is unlikely that Kane's decision will be financial and Postecoglu must convince the player that he can bring Tottenham back to Europe and succeed with the club.

When asked if he received any assurances from Levy regarding Kane Future, Postecoglou said, “I didn't have any guarantees and I didn't expect any guarantees, because when you're dealing with this kind of thing, you're never dealing with certain or certain facts.”

“I just go and try to focus on the things that I know right now. What I know right now is that Harry is part of this team and he is looking forward to getting back into training, being among these players and starting to work together.”

Bayern feel that Kane is open to transfer to Germany and there have been reports that Thomas Tuchel has already spoken to the England captain, telling him they can win the Champions League together. ” /> Tottenham are keen to keep their main player and Bayern Munich are showing huge interest. But Postecoglou refused to go after Bayern before meeting Kane in person.

“If I say it irritates me, that would be a hoax,” he said. “Not registered. I always find it much better to try to understand the situation with my own eyes.

“I think Harry is on vacation right now, in the tanning bed, playing with his family and having a great time. If other things happen, I'm not going to think about it, and the reason I don't think is because he'll be here in two days, and everything I need to know will be right in front of me.< /p>

So, in the meantime, I'm not going to waste my time or sleep on guesswork that may or may not be, because then you're jumping in the shadows – how true is that? At the moment, nothing has hit my desk from anyone at the club to say that the decision should be made there. Not even close to that.”

Tottenham are flying to Perth for the first leg of their tour on Friday night and Postecoglou has a number of issues regarding his away team besides Kane.

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is expected to leave the club. He is known to have three offers that could rule him out while Fraser Forster has a back injury, and it remains to be seen if Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, who the Spurs are willing to sell, will return for pre-season.

< p>Any Tottenham fan hoping that doubts about Kane's future can be completely dispelled at Wednesday's meeting may be disappointed as Postecoglu does not expect it to be final and admits he may have to answer to questions on the subject all summer.

< p> “It's not going to be a conversation when we leave the room and reach an understanding,” Postecoglu said. “I want to introduce myself to Harry and share my vision of the football club with him. And find out from him what he thinks the club needs to do to be successful and get on the training ground and try to make it happen.”
