The book goes on sale September 28—just three days before the Conservatives convene for their annual party conference on October 1.

Ms. Dorries said : “I wanted to find out what forces were behind the fall of the prime minister. Instead, I found a fault line within the Conservative Party going back decades and a history of deceit fueled by the darkest political arts.

“If you thought that power flows from the people to parliament, be prepared to think again.”

Boris Johnson called on his fellow Conservatives to help Nadine Dorris conduct research. the party commission, which ultimately found that Mr Johnson had lied to MPs with his repeated denials of pandemic-era parties on Downing Street, accused its supporters of a coordinated attempt to undermine its work.

HarperCollins said The Plot's goal is to trace Johnson's rise to power from a landslide victory in the 2019 election to his fall as prime minister three years later. The former prime minister was eventually forced to resign after losing his party's trust following a series of political crises.

Adam Humphrey of HarperCollins said, “Nadine's unique perspective, unparalleled access to sources and innate ability to tell stories will provide Plot readers with a rare opportunity to navigate the corridors of power and understand the behind-the-scenes machinations of Westminster.” .

“The story is an urgent look at how our government actually works, and I look forward to seeing it complement current political discourse.”

The Cabinet Secretary said Wednesday that Ms Dorries sent “strong” messages to senior civil servants threatening to use her platform in the Commons to find out why she was denied a peerage.

Simon Case, Chief public service, said he reported the reports to both Chief Whip Simon Hart and Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle.
