Fulham has turned down an offer of around £25m from Saudi side Al Hilal for Aleksandar Mitrovic and insist the striker is not for sale.
Mitrovic has become the latest player targeted by the Saudi Pro League following his impressive Premier League performances last season. Telegraph Sport understands that Mitrovic wants to take this step.
The 28-year-old was Fulham's top scorer in the 2022-2023 season with 15 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions.
Mitrovic, who turns 29 in September, is still three years away. A contract with Fulham, the club he joined in 2018.
The striker is arguably the most important player in Marco Silva's side, also scoring 43 goals in 44 league appearances in his promotional season 2021/22.< /p>
Al Hilal have already succeeded in acquiring two Premier League stars this summer, signing Ruben Neves from Wolves for £47m and Kalida Koulibaly from Chelsea for £17m.
Attack Fulham have already been weakened this summer. In the summer, the loss of striker Manor Solomon, who joined Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer after his loan deal with Craven Cottage came to an end.
Winger Niskens Kebano also left the club, going to Abu Dhabi. Al Jazeera on a free transfer after his contract expired.
Mitrovic was close to leaving Fulham in the summer of 2021 before vice-chairman Tony Khan convinced the Serbian player to stay in England instead of Dynamo Moscow.
Mitrovic missed eight games at the end of last season after pushing referee Chris Kavanagh in an FA Cup tie against Manchester United.
Fulham lost five of those eight games without Mitrovic, but still finished 10th in the Premier League at the end of a hugely successful campaign that exceeded all expectations.
