The M139 is considered the most powerful serial 4-cylinder engine in the world, on the compact models of the Mercedes-AMG A 45 and CLA 45 it produces up to 421 hp. and 500 Nm, but for Emira, his return was cut to 365 hp. and 430 Nm. An 8-speed “automatic” with two wet clutches for this engine is also supplied by Mercedes-AMG, there is no version on the “mechanics” (Emira with a V6 has it). The drive wheels are rear, there is no differential lock, there is only its imitation by brake mechanisms. The Lotus Emira i4 accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.4 s, while 4.2 s was promised a year ago, but the maximum speed, on the contrary, has become higher: last year they promised 283 km/h, now 290 km/h.
The Lotus Emira i4 has a lighter (-12kg) aluminum rear subframe than the V6 version and custom chassis calibrations. Suspension — on double wishbones «in a circle» with Eibach springs and Bilstein single-tube shock absorbers, when ordering a model, you need to choose a standard (Tour) or harder (Sport) setting. The diameter of the front brake discs is 370 mm, the rear ones are 350 mm, 4-piston calipers for them are supplied by AP Racing. Standard tires for the Tour chassis are Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport, for the Sport chassis Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, both 245/35 R 20 front and 295/30 R 20 rear.
