Meanwhile, for the Emira, a junior 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine manufactured by Mercedes-AMG (factory index M139) was originally provided, the British sports car equipped with it was planned to be launched on the market last summer, but in the end the junior version was delayed for a year and so far announced prices for the rich Emira i4 First Edition starter package alone start at £81,495 in the UK and €95,995 in Germany. Last spring, a minimum price of £59,995 was announced for the 4-cylinder version.

The M139 is considered the most powerful serial 4-cylinder engine in the world, on the compact models of the Mercedes-AMG A 45 and CLA 45 it produces up to 421 hp. and 500 Nm, but for Emira, his return was cut to 365 hp. and 430 Nm. An 8-speed “automatic” with two wet clutches for this engine is also supplied by Mercedes-AMG, there is no version on the “mechanics” (Emira with a V6 has it). The drive wheels are rear, there is no differential lock, there is only its imitation by brake mechanisms. The Lotus Emira i4 accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.4 s, while 4.2 s was promised a year ago, but the maximum speed, on the contrary, has become higher: last year they promised 283 km/h, now 290 km/h.
The Lotus Emira i4 has a lighter (-12kg) aluminum rear subframe than the V6 version and custom chassis calibrations. Suspension – on double wishbones “in a circle” with Eibach springs and Bilstein single-tube shock absorbers, when ordering a model, you need to choose a standard (Tour) or harder (Sport) setting. The diameter of the front brake discs is 370 mm, the rear ones are 350 mm, 4-piston calipers for them are supplied by AP Racing. Standard tires for the Tour chassis are Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport, for the Sport chassis Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, both 245/35 R 20 front and 295/30 R 20 rear. The volume of the fuel tank is 52.5 liters. The curb weight is 1446 kg.

Emira is the most comfortable gasoline sports car in the history of Lotus: the equipment includes modern electronic driver assistants, climate control, seats with heated and twelve electrically adjustable, a 340-watt 10-channel KEF audio system, a rearview camera, a multimedia system with a 10.25-inch touch screen (with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support) and a 12.3-inch adjustable virtual instrument cluster.
