Avito Auto experts analyzed sales statistics for used cars of premium brands under 3 years old in Russia in the second quarter of 2023. According to the platform, in April-June 2023, sales of three-year-old premium cars grew by 90.5% compared to the same period last year. The best-selling models in the segment were the BMW X5, Lexus RX, BMW X7, BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
The average cost of a three-year premium used car in Russia in Q2 2023 was 6,684,000 rubles. The share of premium brands in April-June of this year accounted for 1.8% of the total number of sales in the used car market. A year earlier, this figure was 1.3%.
The high build quality and reliability of premium cars explain the growing interest of buyers in premium used cars. Many consider cars under 3 years old as a direct alternative to new ones: they often have low mileage, but at the same time they are cheaper than a new car from the salon. This principle also applies to the premium segment of the market, so the growth in demand for premium cars under the age of 3 years is quite natural. Over the past year, the situation on the used car market has stabilized. This was achieved, among other things, by importing cars from abroad: this trend also contributes to the satisfaction of consumer interest. The ranking of the most popular premium models on the used car market under 3 years in Q2 2023 is headed by the BMW X5. The model accounted for 5.1% of total sales of pre-owned premium brands under the age of 3 years. The average price was 8,450,000 rubles.

In second place is the Lexus RX with a sales share of 4.6% and an average price of 6,700,000 rubles.
The third line in the ranking is the BMW X7. The model accounted for 4% of sales in the segment. The average price was 12,500,000 rubles.

Fourth place is occupied by the BMW 5 Series with a sales share of 3.8% (average price – 4,750,000 rubles), fifth – Mercedes-Benz E-class with a share of 3.7% (average price – 4,750,000 rubles) .
Also in the top 10 best-selling used car models of premium brands under 3 years old are (in descending order of sales share): BMW X6, Genesis GV80, BMW 3 Series, BMW X3, Lexus LX.
