Peugeot, part of the Stellantis Corporation, continues to warm up the audience ahead of the upcoming autumn debut of the third-generation 3008 crossover. The model will change the form factor and get a new electric platform STLA Medium.
Peugeot announced earlier this year that the new 3008 will be Stellaantis' first production model based on the modular STLA Medium platform, announced in 2021 along with three other new platforms — STLA Small, STLA Large and STLA Frame. The full premiere of the third generation crossover will take place in September, and since it will move to an electric platform, it will have the letter E in the name, the official name is Peugeot E-3008.
Will the new Peugeot 3008 have «hydrocarbon» versions or at least hybrid, is still unknown. STLA platforms were originally developed as electric vehicles, but in theory, nothing prevents the old EMP2 platform from being rolled up for versions with internal combustion engines.

In June, the interior of the new Peugeot 3008 was declassified with a rather sculptural front panel topped with a 21-inch panoramic dual-screen scoreboard, and yesterday the Peugeot press service published the first images of the exterior. As you can see, the compact crossover has changed its form factor and now has a sloping stern, that is, it can be called a coupe-shaped crossover or a cross-liftback/fastback — it is still impossible to understand the exact solution of the stern, that is, it is not clear whether the trunk lid opens with or without the rear window him.
The «optics» of the new Peugeot 3008 does not promise surprises, it is made in the spirit of other fresh models of the brand. The branded «grill», apparently, will be completely deaf, but with a pattern imitating a grid. The profile also shows a rather large front overhang, which is completely optional for an electric car. Colored inserts are provided for the wheels.

Last week, Stellantis Corporation published the first photos and main technical characteristics of the STLA Medium platform: it has a 400-volt architecture and is designed for models of classes C and D with a wheelbase from 2700 to 2900 mm and an overall length of 4.3 to 4.9 m The maximum battery capacity is 98 kWh, the maximum range on a single charge will exceed 700 km on the WLTP cycle. On the STLA Medium platform, you can make single-engine front-wheel drive or twin-engine all-wheel drive models, the maximum power of each electric motor can vary in the range from 160 to 285 kW (from 217.5 to 387.5 hp). What motors and battery the Peugeot E-3008 will have is still unknown.

Let's add that last year the Peugeot 3008, according to the analytical agency JATO Dynamics, sold out in Europe with a circulation of 106,752 units, ahead in the class of compact crossovers Hyundai Tucson (150,803 units sold), Kia Spotage (137,353 units), Ford Kuga (127,266 units), Nissan Qashqai (116,365 units) and VW Tiguan (116,334 units).
