Ukraine strikes with drones from land and sea at the military port of Crimea

Ukraine attacked drones from land and sea on the main Crimean naval port of Sevastopol.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said two drones were shot down over the Black Sea, and five were intercepted and jammed by Russian by «electronic warfare» groups.

Two underwater drones were also found and destroyed in the northern part of the Black Sea, the ministry said, adding that there were no casualties or damage.

This was later stated by the Russian Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev. in Telegram that another drone was «deactivated».

Sevastopol is a port and base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Drone attacks have increased in Crimea, annexed by Moscow in 2014.

Kiev has repeatedly stated that it plans to return the peninsula, and the main thrust of the Ukrainian counter-offensive seems to be directed south to cut off Russia from the land corridor to Crimea.

Maritime transport, including passenger ferries, was suspended several hours earlier on Sunday, the city's Moscow-backed transport authorities said on their Telegram channel.

There were no immediate comments from Kiev on the attack. Ukraine almost never publicly comments on the attacks, but has said in recent months that the destruction of Russian military infrastructure helps Kiev counterattack.
