The world premiere of both compact novelties of the Czech brand will take place in a couple of weeks, on August 1st. So far, the manufacturer has declassified the exterior design.
Skoda showed the Scala hatchback at the end of December 2018, sales of the model in Europe started at the beginning of 2019: this model replaced the Rapid Spaceback. The fact that the company is developing a restyled version of the five-door became known back in 2021. The related Scala compact crossover Skoda Kamiq was presented in February 2019, and appeared on the market in the autumn of the same year. Now the Czech brand has shown what the exterior design of these models will look like after the update.
Sketch of the updated Skoda Kamiq crossover
So far, the appearance of the refreshed Scala hatchback and Kamiq crossover has been declassified only on official sketches. Judging by them, the SUV will get a larger grille with the same pattern, as well as a modified air intake integrated into the lower part of the front bumper. Judging by the image, the LED running lights will get a narrower shape, while the main headlight units located “on the lower floor”, on the contrary, will become wider.
The stern of the Skoda Kamiq will be updated with a different rear bumper with a sportier diffuser. The shape of the lanterns will obviously remain the same, although they can change the pattern by dividing into separate sectors. Also, judging by the sketches, the updated crossover will have narrower side mirrors.

The hatchback also has a differently designed lower part of the front bumper with a central and two side air intakes. The head optics have slightly changed the shape and pattern of the LED running lights.

Judging by the images, the five-door feed received a minimum of changes: the shape of the lamps is the same, but the light pattern will be changed, so the company noted that their graphics will become more “refined”. The rear bumper will also remain almost the same, the sketch shows only that the reflectors have moved a little lower and are now located directly above the diffuser. Both cars will also get new original wheels.
The company has not yet disclosed what changes await the “stuffing” of Skoda Scala and Kamiq, noting only that the models have “technological improvements”. According to preliminary data, the refreshed hatchback and crossover can borrow equipment from the recently introduced restyled Volkswagen T-Cross. Recall that its range in Europe includes: a 1.0-liter TSI petrol turbo engine with a capacity of either 95 or 115 hp. The senior engine is a 1.5-liter TSI turbo four with a return of 150 hp. Depending on the model's engine, a mechanic or a DSG robot is offered.
