    British Islamic State fighter found dead in Spanish jail

    The London-raised jihadist who posted photos of himself with his head cut off in Syria was found dead in his prison cell in Spain, where he was charged with belonging to the Islamic State.

    Abdel-Majed Abdel Bari, 32, was arrested in Almeria in southern Spain in April 2020 along with two other alleged IS members.

    On Wednesday, his lifeless body was found in his cell at a prison in El Puerto de Santa Maria. in Cadiz, in southern Spain, where he awaited the verdict. One unconfirmed report says that there was no indication that he was subjected to violence.

    Bary was tried with two Algerians for belonging to a terrorist organization. The presiding judge warned him that if convicted, he could face nine years in prison.

    Among the photos stored on his phone, Bary had three entry visas to Sudan to Syrian names. When he was arrested, he introduced himself as a Syrian citizen named Ahmed Mohamed Al Oulabi.

    Bari's father is Egyptian Islamic extremist Adel Abdul Bari, who was extradited to the United States and imprisoned for his part in the 1998 terror. attacks on the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, killing 123 people.
