Chaotic rebranding of Elon Musk. Twitter faces another stumbling block after it was revealed that its new X web domain was blocked in parts of Asia under anti-pornography laws.
Indonesia banned access to x.com 270 millions of people in the country on Tuesday.
Officers in the Muslim-majority country said the domain was previously linked to gambling and pornography.
The website has remained empty for the past six years, save for a single x .
Prior to that, it was a showcase for PayPal and eBay services intended for operators of online stores not related to gambling or pornography.
After rebranding Twitter to X this week, the site's billionaire owner redirected x.com to redirect visitors to Twitter.
X.com is expected to become a social networking site. a new identity on the Internet.
Usman Kansong, director of the country's Ministry of Communications, said on Tuesday that he is waiting for a response from the Musk-owned company confirming that the domain will be used by Twitter.
A rebrand at the company's San Francisco headquarters also went awry after police stepped in on Monday to stop workers tearing down a Twitter sign.
Officers said Twitter didn't apply for the right permissions to block sidewalk near the building.

Meanwhile, a former Twitter executive accused Musk of lacking the empathy to make the social networking site a success.
Esther Crawford, who once went viral after boasting about sleeping in the Twitter office, to provide the new features required by Mr. Musk, said the CEO «requires a different type of social-emotional intelligence.»
