Great Wall Motor (GWM) brand Haval has unveiled the new Raptor mid-size hybrid crossover in China and promises an attractive price .
Last spring, the Haval brand in China took a course towards full hybridization, which means that all new Haval models will have hybrid all-wheel drive and will be able to drive for quite a long time to drive exclusively on electric power. For new generation Haval cars, a Hi4 (Hybrid Intelligent 4 Wheel Drive) power plant was developed, the first to receive it was the very refined-looking crossover Haval Xiaolong Max (aka Ruge Max), and the second was the brutal Haval B26, which was recently given a commercial name Raptor (name may vary in other markets).
Raptor is an SUV of the same class as the purely gasoline Haval Dargo localized in the Russian Federation, even the wheelbase of the two crossovers is the same – 2738 mm, the overall length of the Raptor with a spare wheel hanging on the hinged tailgate is 4800 mm, the width is 1916 mm , height – 1822 mm. Regular wheels – 18- or 19-inch. The curb weight is rather big – 2055 kg, but plug-in hybrids in principle, as a rule, are heavy, especially all-wheel drive.
There is no official description of the Haval Raptor yet, so you will have to trust the Chinese media. In particular, Autohome magazine reports that the Raptor's parallel-series hybrid power plant is based on a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine with a capacity of 123 kW (167 hp), which in certain modes can rotate the front wheels through the clutch and gearbox, but in general it is assumed that the internal combustion engine will mainly operate in generator mode, and the wheels will be rotated by two electric motors (one per axle). The maximum power of the front electric motor is 80 kW (109 hp), the rear one is 150 kW (204 hp). The rear cross-axle differential is equipped with a lock.
The capacity of the battery mounted in the floor of the body is 19.09 or 27.54 kWh, the electric power reserve according to the outdated NEDC cycle is 102 and 145 km, respectively. The maximum cumulative output of the Raptor power plant with a 19.09 kWh battery is 278 kW (378 hp) and 750 Nm, with a 27.54 kWh battery – 282 kW (383 hp) and 750 Nm. The crossover has a ground clearance of 200 mm, an approach angle of 24 degrees, an exit angle of 30 degrees, and a fording depth of 560 mm.

The interior of the Haval Raptor looks like lined up. The instrument panel is completely virtual. “Navigator” offered a powerful handrail on the front panel. The central tunnel is decorated with carbon fiber (or its imitation), behind the transmission selector there is a washer for selecting driving modes – the Raptor has seven of them, including for mud, sand and snow.
Haval Raptor will go on sale in the home market before the end of this year, the minimum price will be less than 200,000 yuan (2.54 million rubles in translation at the current exchange rate). Whether the Raptor will appear in Russia is still unknown, but it is known that before the end of the year, the GWM-owned brands Ora and Wey will officially enter our market.
