The new SUV is aimed at emerging markets. As expected, the model will be offered with a 1.5-liter aspirated, front-wheel drive only.
Mitsubishi held the first show of its latest compact cross in Indonesia, in addition, the main characteristics were revealed. Recall that this SUV is a serial embodiment of last year's Mitsubishi XFC concept, the model is intended primarily for the countries of Southeast Asia, while the Indonesian plant will become the main production site. In fact, the SUV will be the successor to the long-obsolete ASX (we don’t take into account the European “new” Mitsubishi ASX, because it is an almost one hundred percent clone of the Renault Captur). But the name of the commodity crossover has not yet been announced: the brand has so far designated the five-door as The New SUV (at the same time, the company recently registered the name Destinator in Indonesia).

In terms of appearance, the crossover inherited a lot from its predecessor, although the product version was still simplified. In particular, ordinary mirrors were installed instead of cameras, the radiator grille lost its mosaic pattern, and additional luminous elements were removed from the bumpers. Serial SUV put 18-inch wheels.

The length of the novelty is 4390 mm, width – 1810 mm, height – 1660 mm. The size of the wheelbase has not yet been announced, but Mitsubishi boasted of ground clearance – an impressive 222 mm. Well, for comparison, the dimensions of the current global Mitsubishi ASX: 4365/1810/1630 mm, the distance between the axles is 2670 mm, the ground clearance (in the Russian specification) is 195 or 215 mm (depending on the version).

The interior of the conveyor SUV is still highlighted only on teasers. The crossover did not get a full-fledged scoreboard, like the concept: the touchscreen of the multimedia system and the digital instrument cluster were placed in one case, but the second screen is recessed.

The new crossover will be offered with a gasoline aspirated 1.5 (power not yet known) in combination with a CVT. Drive – exclusively front. At the same time, a system for selecting driving modes will be provided for the SUV, there are four of them: Normal, Gravel (gravel), Mud (dirt) and Wet (wet road mode).
