The top version of the Nismo Z coupe will hit American and Japanese Nissan dealers this fall and will be the most expensive in the range.
The Nissan Z coupe (Nissan Fairlady Z in Japan) debuted in August 2021 as a successor to the long-delayed Nissan 370Z. Sales of the Nissan Z began last year and are still quite modest due to production restrictions in Japan (the sports car is only made here). The US is the main market for the Nissan Z, with 263 units sold there last year and 966 sold in the first half of 2023. For comparison, let's say that sales of the main competitor — Toyota Supra — last year in the USA amounted to 4952 units, in January-June 2023 — 1621 units

On the «duty» versions of the Nissan Z, the maximum output of this engine is 405 hp. and 475 Nm, and on the Nismo version, it is increased to 426 hp due to increased boost pressure, an improved cooling system (including a more efficient oil cooler) and a new program. and 520 Nm.
The transmission of the Nissan Z Nismo is only a 9-speed hydromechanical “automatic”, while the younger versions offer a 6-speed “mechanics” as an alternative. In conjunction with the Nismo version, the “automatic” received a new electronic firmware and modified clutch packages that allow you to shift gears faster (the downshift time is halved). The most “sharp” Sport + has been added to the Normal and Sport driving modes, in which the “automatic” “juggles” gears especially quickly, so that the driver even allegedly does not need a manual mode, although it, of course, is. The drive wheels are rear, between them there is a self-locking differential.

The chassis for the Nismo version has been comprehensively improved: the characteristics of the anti-roll bars have been changed, stiffer springs and more energy-intensive shock absorbers have been installed. The rigidity of the suspension arms and steering gear mounts has been increased to eliminate search steering and make cornering as accurate as possible. Additional struts under the body floor increase its torsional rigidity by 2.5%. In addition, more powerful disc brakes are installed on the Nismo version: the diameter of the front discs is 380 mm (four-piston calipers), the rear ones are 350 mm (two-piston calipers). Rear tire width increased by 10mm: stock Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT600 in 255/40 R 19 front and 285/35 R 19 rear.
