The related refreshed hatchback and crossover of the Czech brand have one for two vehicles and the same interior, but they have retained their appearance features.< /p>
Skoda Scala hatchback and Kamiq crossover are the closest relatives. The five-door was presented first: the Scala debuted at the end of December 2018, and sales in Europe began at the beginning of 2019. In turn, the Kamiq crossover was presented in February 2019, and this model reached old-world dealers in the fall of that year. Now Scala and Kamiq have experienced a planned restyling, and at the same time.

Both models retained their individual appearance. The Skoda Scala hatchback received an enlarged radiator grille with a more complex pattern created from black vertical elements. Also, the refreshed hatchback has a different front bumper with a different air intake, and the headlights have a modified shape and pattern of LED running lights. The model received rims of a new original design ranging in size from 16 to 18 inches.

The two-story head optics look different: now the LED running lights have a narrower shape, and the main headlight units, on the contrary, have become wider. The air intake has also changed slightly. The model was also equipped with a set of new «rollers» with a diameter of either 17 or 18 inches. For the first time, matrix headlights are offered as an option for the Skoda Kamiq and Scala. The interior of the refreshed hatchback and crossover is practically the same, by the way, it also had few differences in the pre-reform versions. The Kamiq and Scala will now come standard with an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster, as well as an infotainment system with a small 8.25-inch touchscreen.

For a surcharge, Kamiq and Scala are available with a 10.25-inch virtual instrument cluster and multimedia with a 9.2-inch touchscreen. It is also worth noting that the climate control unit received more physical buttons (recall, the Skoda brand is part of the VW concern, which had previously announced its departure from the touch keys).

The engine range of the updated hatch and SUV is the same as that of the recently introduced restyled Volkswagen T-Cross crossover. The base is a 1.0-liter TSI petrol turbo in two boost options — 95 and 115 hp. The senior engine is a 1.5-liter TSI turbo four with a capacity of 150 hp. At the same time, the 95-horsepower version is paired only with a manual “five-speed”, and the 115-horsepower and 150-horsepower engines come with either a six-speed mechanics or a seven-speed preselective robotic DSG box. Neither diesels nor hydrides are provided.

The company has not yet said anything about the timing of the start of sales, but, probably, the refreshed Skoda Scala and Kamiq will get to old-world dealers in the near future. Prices for updated versions will be announced later. In one of the largest European markets, in Germany, a pre-styled hatchback can be bought for at least 23,070 euros, and for a crossover they ask for at least 24,370 euros.
