Chevrolet has decided not to release the base 1LT version of the new 2024 Blazer EV, pushing the electric midsize crossover's starting price above the $45,000 mark it originally targeted.
The front-wheel drive version, according to brand representatives The Blazer EV 2LT, scheduled for release next year, will be the base model.
The brand hasn't revealed what the new starting price for the electric crossover will be. Last summer, when introducing the Blazer EV, the company said that the cost of the front-wheel drive version of the 2LT should start at about $47 595 dollars. The 2LT with all-wheel drive will go into production this fall for $56 715 $.
The planned entry level 1LT, which was announced in July 2022, was to be offered for approximately $44,995, Chevrolet said at the time of the announcement. A Chevrolet spokesperson told Automotive News that the brand envisions more expensive modifications to the upcoming Equinox EV that will meet the needs of potential Blazer EV 1LT buyers, and «this gives us the ability to position and sell vehicles without duplication.»
The 2LT all-wheel drive version comes with a 17.7-inch infotainment screen and an 11-inch digital instrument cluster screen.
