Russian-assembled BAIC BJ40 SUVs that have risen in price were sent to dealers

At first, the frame will be offered in a single configuration, and now it costs almost 150,000 rubles more than previously stated .

The Avtotor Kaliningrad plant has been preparing for the production of BAIC BJ40 SUVs since the end of June. Now it has been announced that the company has started serial assembly. Moreover, Avtotor has already started shipping cars from the first industrial batch — frame all-terrain vehicles will soon reach dealers. By the way, within the framework of cooperation with the Chinese concern BAIC, the Russian plant also assembles BAIC U5 Plus sedans and BAIC X35 crossovers.

p>Recall that in China, a frame BJ40 with Jeep Wrangler motives has been made since 2013, and a new generation model is about to start there (such an SUV will no longer have those Jeep motives). But in the Russian Federation, an all-terrain vehicle of the first generation was registered, and only in a long-wheelbase four-door version with a removable plastic roof (in the homeland, the “first” BJ40 has several modifications). The length of our version is 4630 mm, width — 1925 mm, height — 1871 mm, distance between axles — 2745 mm. Passport ground clearance — 210 mm.

Russian customers of the BAIC BJ40 will be offered with a non-alternative 2.0 petrol turbo engine that produces 225 hp. and 380 Nm. The engine is mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic. The SUV has a hard-wired all-wheel drive.

The equipment is also the same so far — Flagship, it includes LED optics, 17-inch wheels, side steps, a full-size spare wheel with a decorative casing, «leather» interior, heated steering wheel and front seats, multimedia system with a 10-inch screen, virtual tidy by 12.3 inches, rear-view camera, dual-zone climate control, standard video recorder, cruise control.

On the way to the BAIC dealers, the BJ40 managed to rise in price. So, the official website of the brand now lists the price of 3,906,900 rubles, while at the end of June there was a price tag of 3,759,900 rubles.
