According to the genre, the new version was distinguished by the presence of an off-road body kit, and the “face” was redesigned for the five-door. The cross will enter the home market next month.
Subaru already has an Outback off-road barn in the range. And now the company has decided to honor a similar version and the younger five-door Levorg: a new modification has been announced in Japan. The full name of the cross-wagon is Levorg Layback, the last word is derived from laid back, which can be translated as “imposing” or “laid back”. The brand accompanied its announcement with teasers, while the full premiere is scheduled for September 7.
Judging by the pictures, the Levorg Layback will have its own “face”: the station wagon will receive an original radiator grille with a massive chrome plate and a more impressive bumper with black inserts. And of course, the cross-version will get an unpainted plastic body kit. The interior has orange stitching.

The dimensions of the Subaru Levorg Layback have not yet been announced. The length of the standard station wagon (in the Japanese specification) is 4755 mm, the wheelbase is 2670 mm. Ground clearance is only 145mm, but Layback is hoping for more ground clearance.
Technique is probably the same as a five-door without an off-road body kit. In Japan, the Subaru Levorg station wagon is presented with a 1.8 petrol boxer turbo engine that produces 177 hp. and 300 Nm. For the “charged” Levorg STI, a 2.4 turbo engine with a capacity of 275 hp is also provided. (375 Nm). The station wagon has all-wheel drive by default.

As a reminder, the second generation Subaru Levorg is also available outside of Japan market: in some countries it is called the WRX Wagon, and in some places it is the WRX Sportwagon (Levorg's closest relative is the WRX sedan). That is, the cross-version may well become global too.
