Zenvois set to debut its Aurorahypercar at the end of this month, and on Tuesday, the company revealed the fully composite central structure that underpins the car. While the previous models of the Danish marque were based on tubular steel construction, the Aurora takes a much more advanced and easy way, as in Formula 1.
In the center of the car is a monocoque made of carbon fiber, which also serves as a passenger cell, but instead of the typical front and rear mounted aluminum subframes, Zenvo uses carbon fiber and other composites, essentially creating one giant composite component.
This design is not only extremely rigid, but and extremely light and Zenvo weights less than 120 ;kg. It is also very safe as it incorporates energy-absorbing impact structures similar to Formula 1 cars.
Zenvo teamed up with Spanish company Managing Compositesto develop the structure. Managing Compositeswill also build the bodywork for Zenvoand is already supplying the center structure for Carmenelectric grand tourer to Hispano-Suiza.
The Aurora will be built in just 100 cars and Zenvo said it will be certified for global markets. It is planned to release two versions: Agil and Tur. Agil — a more hardcore version designed for track driving, while the version of the Tur — option for public roads.
In the movement of the novelty will be driven by a 6.6-liter V12 with four turbines, working with a hybrid system with a total capacity of 1 824 hp Zenvo plans to introduce the Aurora August 18, assuming that the debut will take place during the Monterey Car Week, which will run from 11 to 20 August.
