Texas-based Classic Recreations will unveil the classic Shelby Cobra Race Car at Monterey, California Auto Week in a carbon body. The light version is called the Diamond Edition, and only 10 copies will be produced.
Classic Recreations is engaged in the restoration and tuning of classic American sports cars (mainly Shelby Ford Mustang), it also produces licensed replicas of classic Shelby Cobra roadsters from the 60s of the last century. Recall that the original Shelby Cobra is a British AC Ace roadster modified by Carroll Shelby with a powerful Ford V8 engine. Classic Recreations has developed a completely new chassis for the Cobra, and now also a full carbon fiber body — especially for the 60th anniversary of the original model. The Diamond Edition (translated into Russian as “diamond edition”) will be released in Race Car racing specification, from Shelby it has been assigned official serial numbers CSX 4521-4530.
At the heart of the body of the Shelby Cobra from Classic Recreations is a spatial tubular frame, to which subframes are attached for installing the engine and suspensions. Suspensions are typically racing, adjustable, push-rod type, double wishbones «in a circle». Baer perforated ventilated disc brakes with a diameter of 355 mm are installed front and rear, 6-piston calipers in front, 4-piston in the rear. The entire outer skin of the body is made of lacquered carbon fiber and weighs only 40 kg, the curb weight of the car is less than 1043 kg. The compound forged wheels from Forgeline Wheels are fitted with wide tires in 295/35 R 18 front and 335/30 R 18 rear.

The Shelby Cobra Race Car Diamond Edition cockpit rightfully features a carbon fiber instrument cluster, each red-backed dial is adorned with a Shelby 10-diamond emblem, and there is a plaque on the passenger side with the same emblem engraved with Carroll Shelby's signature and the car's serial number .
