Chery launches a new model on the market. Prices and equipment have already been announced at home, and the SUV will reach Russia in the fall, and under a different brand.
This cross Chery debuted in the spring, the car was then presented under the internal factory index TJ-1. The trade name was announced in June: it can be translated from Chinese as Explore 06. And although Chery did not talk about it, the numbers in the title may well hint that Explore will become a new series — like the Tiggo cross-line. So today the company opened in its homeland accepting orders for the «six», at the same time publishing preliminary prices and the composition of the configurations. And already in September, the model will appear in Russia, however, we will sell it as Jaecoo J7, and in the Russian Federation, another Chery sub-brand, Omoda, is responsible for the Jake brand. But back to Explore 06.

In China, the Chery model was certified with two exterior design options — brutal and more relaxed. However, only the “harsh” Explore 06 is entering the market so far (by the way, the Jaecoo J7, on the contrary, has only a “restrained” version with an original radiator grille). The features of such a “six” are impressive bumpers and a massive grille with a giant Chery inscription instead of the usual emblem. Other features of the model are three-tier head optics (diode running lights with “pixel” sections are located on top), mirrors on separate legs, retractable door handles and rear lights made in the form of a single die.
The length of the «off-road» Chery Explore 06 intended for China is 4538 mm, width — 1898 mm, height — 1680 mm. The wheelbase is 2672 mm, which is only 2 mm less than that of the familiar Chery Tiggo 7 Pro SUV (that is, the cars are probably unified). Passport ground clearance Explore 06 — 200 mm. Trunk capacity is 410 liters, with the second row folded down, this figure will increase to 1338 liters.In the five-seater cabin — a virtual tidy with a diagonal of 10.25 inches and a vertical multimedia tablet of 13.2 inches (the Russian Jaecoo J7 is promised a larger central touchscreen — with a diagonal of 14.8 inches). Depending on the configuration, the model also provides: 18- or 19-inch wheels, leather upholstery, head-up display, panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, all-round cameras, adaptive cruise control, auto-brake systems, lane keeping , monitoring «blind» zones and recognizing road signs.

At home, the crossover is still offered with a non-alternative petrol turbo four 1.6 TGDI, which produces 197 hp. and 290 Nm. The engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The cheapest Explore 06 has front-wheel drive, the rest of the versions are all-wheel drive. A plug-in hybrid will appear later in China.

In China, the Chery Explore 06 is now asking $18,000 to $20,200. However, the clarification that the prices are “preliminary” often means that in reality the model will be a little more affordable. The start of «live» sales is scheduled for August 20. Well, more details about the Jaecoo J7 for the Russian Federation will appear closer to September.
