AvtoVAZ spoke about how the rise in price of components supplied from abroad will affect the price lists of Russian brand models.
Cars of the Lada brand remain the most popular in the Russian market. As we reported earlier, in July, the share of the brand was 28.6% of the total number of new cars registered. It should be noted that today AVTOVAZ has launched the production of all previously sent to the «standby mode», with the exception of station wagons and vans Lada Largus.

Note that the Togliatti plant has now launched the production of budget sedans, liftbacks and Granta station wagons, Niva Legend and Niva Travel SUVs, as well as updated Vesta sedans and station wagons. In addition, the production of the Lada X-Cross 5 crossover, which is a badge engineering “Chinese” FAW Bestune T77, has recently started at the former Nissan plant in St. year).

Ladas are in high demand in the Russian Federation, including due to relatively low prices. However, in the near future, the cost of models of the Russian brand may increase. According to RBC with reference to representatives of AVTOVAZ, prices for budget cars will not change in the near future. The company noted that the cheapest performances of Grants will still cost less than 700 thousand rubles.
It is worth noting that according to the current price list posted on the official website of the brand, the recommended retail price of a sedan in the starting version of the Classic is 699,900 rubles, a liftback in the same version will cost 768,900 rubles, and a cross-station wagon in the initial configuration Comfort Light will cost at least 866,900 rubles.

Also, AvtoVAZ said that they could increase the cost of more expensive versions of Lada cars. “Some price adjustments are possible for more equipped modifications, primarily in connection with their completion with additional options received, including from foreign suppliers and some domestic suppliers who receive subcomponents and raw materials from abroad,” the manufacturer noted. The fact is that imported components are now more expensive due to the weakening of the ruble.

Potential price adjustments for expensive and less mass-produced modifications of Lada models were designated as “minimal” by the company. So the manufacturer stressed that the proposed rewriting of price lists is not related to the recent indexation of the recycling fee (in AvtoVAZ, they were very actively in favor of raising rates). Recall that the disposal fee has always been a protective measure for cars imported into the country. Now it works against imported models of Chinese brands, as well as cars of European, Japanese, American and other brands that are relatively rarely supplied to the Russian Federation under the scheme of parallel imports (even those imported by individuals for resale).
More the publication noted that AvtoVAZ intends to increase the capacity of car production. Thus, for Granta, the figure will increase to 54 units per hour, for Niva — up to 45 units per hour, and for Vesta — up to 40 units per hour. It should be noted that in July Vesta returned to the top three leading models in the Russian market.
