GM and SAIC showed a sedan in the style of Hyundai Sonata

The new four-door Wuling Starlight will have both a plug-in hybrid option and an all-electric version with its own design.

The main market for the brand is China, although products are also shipped outside of it; according to Wuling's strategy, exclusively «home» models have red logos, those intended for export, too, have silver logos. Now the company has shown a new product with a silver emblem, we are talking about a sedan, which was named Starlight.

The appearance of the four-door was declassified today by the Chinese Ministry of Industry, but later the manufacturer published the first official images of the Wuling Starlight. The silhouette of this sedan resembles the pre-reform Hyundai Sonata, and it also borrowed the idea of ​​designing the rear lights (in the form of an unfinished oval).

The model will have two versions — a plug-in hybrid and an electric car — while each modification received its own exterior design. So, in a completely “green” version of Starlight, the head optics are two separate headlights in the form of thin boomerangs with LED “shading” of running lights. Below are the main blocks of headlights, which are interconnected by a narrow black air intake. The embossing on the hood resembles thin lines that diverge like a wedge from the brand logo.

In turn, the Wuling Starlight hybrid modification received a pair of parallel stampings on the hood, and its running lights are made in the form of thin strips interconnected by a thin luminous strip that runs under the edge of the hood. Both versions of the model received traditional exterior mirrors, chrome-plated edging of the side glazing line, and recessed handles. It should be noted that in the official images, the design of the rims does not differ in the modifications, although in the pictures published in the database of the Ministry of Industry of the PRC, they look different in the “electric train”. The stern has no visual differences: the hybrid version probably has an exhaust pipe hidden in the lower part of the rear bumper. Wuling Starlight is 4835mm long, 1860mm wide, 1515mm high; distance between axles is 2800 mm. It is known that the fully “green” version is equipped with a single 136 hp electric motor, its maximum speed is limited to 150 km/h.

According to the Celestial Ministry of Industry, the installation of a rechargeable hybrid is based on a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a return of 106 hp, other details about the system have not yet been disclosed. The maximum speed of the hybrid does not exceed 145 km/h. will pass later.
