Saudi fun continues with £46m Aleksandar Mitrovic bid

Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is the subject of a £46m bid from Al-Hilal in a last-ditch bid to get him promoted to the Saudi Pro League.

The 28-year-old Serbia striker was expected to stay at Craven Cottage after initial offers. have been expelled from the SPL club, who also sign Neymar from PSG for £86m. They are back with a new offer and it is hoped that it will be accepted as it is close to Fulham's asking price.

Fulham must now decide whether to accept the offer for their striker who has been taken off the bench spare. in their 1-0 Premier League victory over Everton over the weekend. They were preparing for him to stay outside the transfer window after they integrate him back into Marco Silva's team.

If a deal is agreed, Fulham will have at least two weeks to bring in another striker before the transfer deadline. They are close to signing Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi and are working on deals with Everton's Demarai Gray and Leicester's Timothy Castagne.

Mitrovic has made it clear that he wants to move to the Middle East. He had trained on his own earlier in the pre-season — Silva described it as «wrong work with his teammates» — when Al Hilal's £25m offer was turned down.

They are much closer to Fulham's estimate of over £50m for the player in his best years as a striker. Last season, he scored 15 goals.

«Mitro is the best striker and we helped him and were able to squeeze the maximum out of him in two seasons, like no one else,» Silva said.< /p>

«We know what Mitro was like that season in the Premier League when the club was relegated, and we are grateful to him for how he understood us and how he showed himself at this level.

“But the market is open and everyone is looking for strikers and they want the best. If they want the best, then you would look at Mitro. I cannot guarantee that he will be with us until the end of the market, because I cannot control the market. But we are ready if something happens, even if I don't like it.»
