The updated Ram 1500 pickup is preparing for the presentation and imminent release to the market

There is a chance that the refreshed version of the American-branded truck will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show this November.

The Ram brand is part of the auto giant Stellantis, which appeared in early 2021 as a result of the merger of PSA and FCA. The bestseller of the brand has been the Ram Pickup for a long time, its most popular modification remains the 1500, the current version was introduced in 2019. Now the company is developing a restyled version of this truck: its presentation will most likely take place before the end of this year.

According to brand head Tim Kuniskis, quoted by Detroit News, the updated Ram 1500 will go on sale in the US market in the first quarter of next year. It is expected that the novelty will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, which will open its doors at the end of the coming autumn. And the refreshed pickup is likely to be accompanied by another novelty of the brand — the all-electric Ram ProMaster van.

Previously, photo spies caught a prototype of the updated Ram 1500 during road tests. The car was carefully disguised, so most of the details of the appearance of the refreshed pickup could not be seen. It is assumed that he will receive a different grille, modified head optics, as well as other bumpers.

It is not yet known whether the developers of the restyled pickup will touch the interior. Note that now the Ram truck is equipped with a large infotainment system touchscreen in the center of the front panel, its diagonal is 12 inches.

It is possible that restyling will also affect the technique of the model. The current Ram 1500 has a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 aspirated in the lineup, its return is 395 hp; as well as a 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar (305 hp) and a 3.0-liter V6 diesel (260 hp). The top versions have a 702-horsepower V8 Hemi with a volume of 6.2 liters under the hood. There is a possibility that the company will abandon the V8 5.7 in favor of the 3.0-liter Hurricane six-cylinder bi-turbo engine, which is listed in the Jeep arsenal (this brand is also owned by Stellantis). It is worth noting that now the price of an ordinary pickup truck in the United States starts at 39 thousand dollars (equivalent to about 3.7 million rubles at the current exchange rate), the indicated cost includes a delivery fee to the destination, its size is 1995 dollars. It is possible that the price tag of the updated version of the truck will exceed 40 thousand dollars.

Recall that in early summer, Ram showed his new small pickup Rampage, designed for the South American market. It is based on the Small Wide platform, on which the Fiat Toro pickup, as well as the Jeep Compass and Renegade crossovers are based. The novelty is offered in three versions with petrol and diesel 2.0-liter turbo engines.
