The Japanese brand's first all-electric model in the US will have a starting price of approximately $60,000. The cars will reach dealers early next year.
For the Acura brand, owned by the Japanese company Honda, the main market is the States. It is known that the brand is going to completely switch to electric vehicles in the USA by 2040, and now it has taken the first serious step in this direction: within the framework of Monterey Car Week, the all-electric Acura ZDX crossover, as well as its “charged” version with the addition of Type S to title.

Recall that the company has already used the name ZDX before: this was the name of the mid-size crossover with a sloping roof, which was produced between 2009 and 2013. It was not popular: only 6118 copies were sold during its presence in the American market. >The new «green» SUV «grew» from the Precision EV concept presented a year ago, its name in English means «accuracy», «accuracy». Official photos of the camouflaged prototype were released at the end of last year, and a video teaser of the novelty appeared at the beginning of this month. Now the model has been completely declassified.
Acura ZDX received a raised hood, black roof, roof rails and pillars, which created the effect of a floating top, traditional exterior mirrors and door handles, a shark fin antenna. The front part was decorated with a body-colored plug, made in the recognizable shape of the branded radiator grille. It has a pattern in the form of diamonds radiating from a large logo and a backlit edging.

The Integra-style headlights feature a swoosh pattern with a long wing and a few strokes below them. At the bottom of the front bumper are a large central and a pair of side air intakes made of unpainted plastic with silver elements. The stern received a spoiler at the top of the tailgate, horizontally elongated lights and a black plastic trim at the bottom. Depending on the model, either 20″ or 22″ wheels are available.

The overall length of the Acura ZDX is 5022 mm, width — 1956 mm, height — 1636 mm, and the distance between the axles is 3094 mm. The salon is designed for five riders. On the front panel is an 11-inch virtual tidy, and in the center is a touchscreen of a modern information system with a diagonal of 11.3 inches. Another crossover was equipped with a Bang & Olufsen with 18 speakers, four of which are installed in the roof lining.

Acura ZDX is equipped with a lithium-ion traction battery with a capacity of 102 kWh. This model has a maximum range of 523 km.

The basic version of the crossover has one electric motor located on the rear axle, its output is 345 hp. The “charged” all-wheel drive version of the Acura ZDX Type S is equipped with a twin-engine power plant (one on each axle), its total power is 507 hp. : The Acura ZDX will start at around $60,000, while the top-end Type S will cost at least $70,000. Electric crossovers will reach dealers early next year.
