>Serial production of the new generation Haval H5 frame SUV began in China in July, and sales have started there today. Recall that before the «five» was called the car, which was a modernized version of the Great Wall Hover. The original all-terrain vehicle debuted back in 2005, the Isuzu Axiom became the prototype for it; later, the Hover H3 was made from the “just” Hover, followed by the Hover H5 with a different design. In Russia, the SUV was first produced as the Great Wall (Irito was responsible for the assembly), then under the DW Hower brand, already at the Stavropol-Avto plant (at the level of the founders there was a connection with the Derways company). And in 2020, the production of the Haval H5 was organized at the Tula plant, but our rather outdated all-terrain vehicle did not last long. But back to the new one.

The fresh Haval H5 is made on the basis of the Great Wall Poer KingKong pickup truck, and the dimensions of the SUV are comparable to the Toyota Land Cruiser 300. The length of the new “five” is 5190 mm, the width is 1905 mm, the height is 1835 mm, the distance between the axles is the same 3140 mm , as the truck (more precisely, we are talking about the «short» King Kong). Passport ground clearance of the SUV is 200 mm, the approach angle is 25 degrees, the fording depth is 600 mm. The H5 has independent double wishbone suspension at the front and a solid axle at the rear.
The kinship with the pickup truck can also be traced in the design: the passenger all-terrain vehicle received headlights of a similar shape, the same embossed hood, mirror housings and side stampings. However, the grille and taillights are their own.
Inside, the new Haval H5 almost repeated King Kong, except that the central tunnel was redone, a box selector appeared, like the Tank 300, and the screen of the multimedia system became larger (12.3 inches versus 10.25 inches for the Great Wall Poer KingKong). Finishing materials have also been replaced. By the way, despite the gigantic dimensions, the SUV has so far been offered exclusively with a five-seat interior. The manufacturer did not announce the minimum trunk volume, but boasted an indicator with the backs of the second row folded down: 2116 liters.

(360 Nm) and six-speed mechanics. More expensive trims have a 218-horsepower version of this engine (380 Nm) in combination with an eight-speed ZF automatic. There is also a 2.0 turbodiesel (163 hp), it is also combined with a 6MKP or 8AKP (in the first case, the maximum torque is 360 Nm, in the second — 400 Nm). Gasoline cars come with rear or all-wheel drive (classic Part-Time with a hard-wired front axle), diesel cars are only all-wheel drive. .jpg» /> 1/3 2/3 3/3
You can’t call the H5 “rich” in terms of equipment. The arsenal of the cheapest SUV includes LED optics, 17-inch wheels, leather upholstery, an audio system, air conditioning, rear parking sensors, a pair of airbags, and cruise control. In the next older version, a multimedia system and all-round cameras appear. The top trim levels come with 18-inch wheels and side airbags. Everything else is an extra charge: this is an adaptive “cruise” (but it is not provided for diesel SUVs), auto-braking and lane keeping systems, a panoramic sunroof, heated seats and an Eaton rear cross-axle differential lock.
1/3 5e.jpg» /> 2/3 3/3But the base giant Haval H5 turned out to be cheaper than the most affordable updated crossover Haval DaGou (in Russia, the pre-reform cross is presented as Dargo ): 122,800 against 123,900 yuan (approximately 1,584,000 and 1,598,000 rubles at the current exchange rate). However, other versions of the «five» are more expensive. The top-end H5 was priced at CNY 157,800 the new SUV will probably be exported, so we should not exclude the possibility of its appearance in the Russian Federation: at least the related Great Wall Poer KingKong pickup is sold here.
