The updated SUV made its debut in its homeland in a single hybrid version. The model has changed both outside and inside, the equipment has also been modernized.
A crossover named Free launched on the home market in 2021, it became the first-born of the Voyah brand, created by Dongfeng specifically for expensive electrified models (later a minivan and a sedan were added to the range). Alas, there are no queues for SUVs in the homeland: from January to July 2023, 6,620 units were sold, while the Li Ideal L7 cross, one of the main Free competitors, sold 13,389 copies last month alone. To cheer up interest, as usual, restyling is called. It is curious that if before Voyah Free was available in China as a sequential hybrid or electric car, then the updated crossover is still presented only in a hybrid modification.
It was — it became
Externally, the SUV now repeats the limited edition Free DNA, which appeared in the Middle Kingdom last year (3,000 units were produced). From the special version of the model got a narrow grille, more aggressive bumpers and a large forked spoiler (the special series still had shields on the rear wheel arches, but they did not switch to the mass SUV). At the same time, the dimensions have not changed: the length is 4905 mm, the width is 1950 mm, the height is 1645 mm, the wheelbase is 2960 mm. The crossover is fitted with 20-inch wheels of a new design. As before, Voyah Free comes standard with air suspension, which can increase ground clearance from 113mm to 213mm.

The central tunnel has been redesigned in the cabin: instead of the box joystick, it now has two pads for wireless charging of smartphones, and the right stalk is responsible for controlling the transmission. In addition, a touch panel was installed above the air vents intended for rear passengers, with its help you can switch multimedia tracks, adjust sound, lighting and the position of the panoramic sunroof. The multimedia system itself has become faster.

The hybrid installation has also been upgraded. As before, it includes a 1.5 petrol turbo engine, which works only in generator mode to recharge the battery. But the internal combustion engine itself is different, it works on the Miller economy cycle and produces 150 hp. (predecessor power — 109 hp). Voyah Free still has two electric motors (that is, an all-wheel drive cross), the total output of which is 489 hp. and 720 Nm. Battery — with a capacity of 39.2 kW * h (was 39 kW *). It is stated that only on electric traction the crossover will travel 210 km instead of the previous 205 km (according to the CLTC cycle). The SUV will reach the first “hundred” in 4.8 seconds. , but Voyah Free has fallen in price: if a similar pre-reform hybrid in China has recently been asked for at least 333,600 yuan (about 4,380,000 rubles at the current exchange rate), then the updated crossover costs 266,900 yuan (about 3,500,000 rubles).< br />
The Russian office of Voyah has already mentioned the refreshed Free on its pages in social networks, but it is not known when such an SUV will reach our market. The current crossover in the Russian Federation is presented in two hybrid versions (“standard” and long-range), we also sell an electric car. The price of the model is from 7,990,000 rubles.
