    Manchester City look to Matheus Nunez and Eberechi Eze

    Manchester City mulling move to Wolves Crystal Palace's Matheus Nunez or Eberechi Eze as Pep Guardiola are looking to further strengthen their attacking midfielder after a long-term injury to Kevin De Bruyne.

    City sought a deal for West Ham's Lucas Paquete but were forced After the Brazilian was the subject of an investigation by the Football Association over alleged betting violations, they turned their sights elsewhere.

    With De Bruyne out of games for four or five months due to a serious hamstring injury, Guardiola wants another player in midfield and City are currently looking into signing Nunez or Eze with a potential move for one of the players.

    Dani Olmo has also been linked with City, but RB Leipzig director Oliver Mintzlaff insisted on Wednesday that the Spanish international would remain with the German club.

    City are expected to formally complete the signing with Jeremy for £55.5 million. Doku from Rennes on Thursday after the Belgian striker underwent a medical in Manchester on Wednesday.

    The 21-year-old will replace Riyad Mahrez, who joined Saudi Arabian club Al Ahly last month for 30 £4 million.

    The triple title holders have already signed Croatia midfielder Mateo Kovacic. and defender Josko Guardiol from Chelsea and Leipzig respectively, with Doku set to be their third major signing.

    But City are set to make another signing that includes Nunez and Eze in a small pool of candidates . Nunez joined the Wolves from Sporting Lisbon last summer for £42m, and Guardiola has previously admired the 24-year-old Portugal international.

    Eze, 25, who made his senior England debut in June, has been on City's watchlist for this year and is another strong option.

    However, Wolves and Palace won't want to lose a single player and very substantial offers may be needed to convince sell them.

    < p>Meanwhile, City have announced that Bernardo Silva has signed a one-year contract extension that will tie the Portuguese midfielder to the club until June 2026 and end speculation about his future.
