JAC Motors unveiled the long-awaited all-new Refine minivan at the Chengdu Motor Show and promised two more models in 2025 and 2026 in the MPV segment.
The history of the Refine sub-brand (aka Ruifeng) began in 2002: JAC then released its first passenger model under it (previously there were only trucks and buses) — the Refine minivan, it was a clone of the first generation Hyundai Starex, which in turn was a clone of Mitsubishi Delica fourth generation. Subsequently, the Refine name stuck mainly to JAC minivans, although the range also included sedans, hatchbacks and crossovers. JAC has not presented completely new minivans for more than five years, and meanwhile, it has been in recent years that the MPV segment in China has been booming, or rather, the premium wing of this segment is developing, which prompted even Volvo to release the first monocab in its history.

Previous Refine sub-brand minivans were relatively simple and unpretentious, while the new lineup, which will include at least three models, is designed for the wealthy public who crave luxury and comfort. The Refine RF8 became the firstborn of the new, premium line, it is based on the MUSE modular platform with basic front-wheel drive and a transverse internal combustion engine, the front suspension is of the McPherson type, and the rear is multi-link. Overall length JAC Refine RF8 — 5200 mm, width — 1980 mm, height — 1830 mm, wheelbase — 3100 mm. The stock tires are 225/55 R 18.

The salon is three-row, with a landing formula of 2 + 2 + 2 or 2 + 2 + 3, that is, in the second row, in any case, two individual seats are installed. The volume of the trunk, depending on the number of seats involved, varies from 700 to 2500 liters. 5 3/5 685d15d.jpg» /> 4/5 5/5
At the moment, two power plants have been announced for the JAC Refine RF8 to choose from. The purely petrol version (white car in the photos) is equipped with a 2.0-liter petrol turbo engine (251.5 hp, 400 Nm) paired with an 8-speed automatic. Inside, this version has a single two-screen display on the front panel, while the plug-in hybrid minivan has separate instrument and multimedia screens and a larger multimedia screen (15.6 inches) than the purely “hydrocarbon” version.

The maximum cumulative output of the power plant is 310 kW (421.5 hp) and 745 Nm. On electric power, the hybrid minivan will be able to travel more than 200 km on a single charge, in hybrid mode with a full tank and a fully charged battery — 1200 km.
1/2 2/2 prices not yet announced. In 2025 and 2026, JAC Motors has promised two more new minivans, but nothing is known about them yet. For us, the JAC Refine RF8 is interesting because, if the current vector of development of the Russian automobile industry is maintained for a long time, it can turn into one of the new models of the Moskvich brand revived last year.
