Renault Kardian crossover, which was supposed to be registered in Russia: new official photos

The compact SUV is made from the third generation Sandero Stepway. The full premiere will take place at the end of this month.

Renault officially announced its new “B segment urban SUV” named Kardian in August, and now a fresh batch of teasers has been published. By the way, Renault is intriguing in vain, because patent images of the SUV have long been posted on the Internet. As a separate model, the company is positioning the converted cross-hatch Sandero Stepway of the current generation, which is based on the CMF-B platform: the original cross, along with the usual compact, is sold in Europe under the Dacia brand, but the Renault Kardian is addressed primarily to Latin America, and will produce the new product Brazilian plant.

Let us recall that the “off-road” five-door was supposed to be registered in Russia, although it is not a fact that under a new name: the production of the entire budget Renault family of the third generation (including the Logan sedan) was planned to be launched at AVTOVAZ (it also produced previous cars), but after the start well-known events, the Renault Group left our market. However, let's return to the Renault Kardian.

The upcoming SUV differs from the Dacia Sandero Stepway in the design of the front and rear. Thus, Kardian received two-tier head optics (diode running lights are located on top, the main headlight blocks are located below), an original radiator grille and bumpers, plus C-shaped rear lights. In addition, the hood and doors were replaced. It was announced that the length of the new cross is “less than 4.15 meters” (the current Dacia Sandero Stepway is 4088 mm).

The interior of the Kardian is not yet exposed. Most likely, like the donor, there will be a multimedia system tablet inside that rises above the front panel.

The company has not yet talked about the technology of the SUV either. The crossover will probably be offered with a liter turbocharged engine (like the Dacia Sandero). The drive is probably exclusively front-wheel drive.
