The Wars' Revolution suffered one of its biggest setbacks when the game's governing body was forced to admit to a «significant human error» by Wars Darren England, who failed to recover Liverpool's goal against Tottenham. , which was disallowed for offside because he thought it had already been scored.
Liverpool completed a 2-1 defeat to Tottenham with nine men and went down with seconds to play when Joel Matip scored an own goal, but it was a disallowed goal scored by Luis Diaz in the 34th minute when the score was 0 -0, the game's biggest controversy.
The Professional Game Match Officials Limited, the body that governs referees in the Premier League, Football League and Football Association, finally admitted on Saturday evening the scale of the error: England were wrong suggested that the goal was scored by a player on the field. team of officials.
PGMOL then announced on Sunday morning that England and assistant War Dan Cook had been removed from their next scheduled duties. England were suspended as fourth official for Sunday's match between Nottingham Forest and Brentford, while Cook was suspended as assistant referee for Monday's match between Fulham and Chelsea.
“Darren England, Var for Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool and Dan Cook, assistant video assistant referee (Avar) for the same game, substituted for Nottingham Forest v Brentford and Fulham v Chelsea.” today and tomorrow evening respectively.” PGMOL said in a statement.
England were replaced by Craig Pawson and Eddie Smart replaced Cook.
An on-field assistant flagged Diaz's goal for offside. Replays clearly showed Dias was onside when Mohamed Salah passed the ball. But England's mistake was that he thought the goal had been awarded and told referee Simon Hooper: «The review is complete.» Hooper suggested this confirmed it was offside. In fact, it was the other way around.

The lack of a freeze frame with drawn lines showing the decision further raised suspicions, and Jurgen Klopp would later say that at half-time he was told that a mistake had been made.
The Liverpool manager had just arrived for the post-match press conference , when PGMOL admitted its mistake. PGMOL said it had to «admit significant human error» in the first half of the year. Because the goal was disallowed by the team on the field, PGMOL stated that «it was a clear and obvious error of fact which should have resulted in the goal being awarded due to the intervention of Ware, but Ware did not intervene.»
Klopp: «At half-time we realized it was clearly a game»
PGMOL said an investigation would be carried out. However, head referee Howard Webb admits the damage to confidence in the offside decision-making system will be enormous. England was the on-field referee who failed to overturn Ollie Watkins' penalty against Crystal Palace, even when his var told him to reconsider it.
Klopp said he was told at half-time the decision was wrong. “At first I thought it was clearly from the side, but you think they have a better view. At half-time we knew. That's okay…the pictures are easy to see. I'm pretty sure whoever made this decision didn't do it intentionally. It didn't take long to conclude it was offside. It's a little weird, but someone else should explain. I have nothing more to say.”

He added: “In the good old days, the linesman would have seen that it wasn't offside because we used to have those situations quite often. And when you see it back, it's pretty clear. But again, no one did this on purpose. Whatever I say here makes headlines, it doesn't help the situation at all.»
In a statement to PGMOL, he said: “We had this situation in the Manchester United game [against Wolves when a penalty was not awarded against Andre Onana] – did Wolves get points for that? We won't get any points for this, so it won't help. No one expects 100 per cent correct decisions on the pitch, but we all thought that when Var came in it might make things easier. I do not know why? Are they that much under pressure? The decision was made very quickly to achieve this goal. It changed the game.”

Klopp saw Curtis Jones sent off for red card for 25 minutes, which the Liverpool manager said was not a red card violation. He also questioned the first of two cards for substitute Diogo Jota at half-time.
On Jones's dismissal, Klopp said: «Total control of the ball, rolls the ball and then hits the decisive shot on his feet.» . When you watch it in slow motion, it looks terrible. When you see it in real time, it's not even close to that bad. Is this a red card? It's not even close to intentional. It is very important to me that no one thinks that we have so many red cards [this season], that we are a strong team.»
