Sales of the updated Hyundai Elantra, locally assembled, have begun in Kazakhstan.

In the neighboring country, the restyled four-door is available with two naturally aspirated petrol engines to choose from. There is neither a “sporty” version nor a truly “evil” version on the Kazakh market.

In Hyundai’s native Korea, the premiere of the updated sedan took place in the spring, where, we recall, the model is called Avante. Recently, a refreshed four-door – now the Elantra itself – appeared in China, Turkey, Mexico and the Middle East, in addition, a version for the USA was presented. Well, now this model has reached Kazakhstan: it has been announced that the car is available for purchase at dealership centers in Almaty and Astana, as well as for pre-order in the regions. For the Kazakh market, the sedan is assembled locally.

Restyling brought the Elantra headlights of a more familiar shape (previously there were “boomerangs”), a radiator grille divided in two, new bumpers and wheels, in addition, relief inserts now adorn the rear roof pillars. The length has increased by 60 mm to 4710 mm, the wheelbase is the same 2720 mm. In the cabin, only the finishing materials became different. By the way, in Korea the model also has a “sporty” N Line version and a full-fledged “evil” N version. Such performances will be sold in other countries, but Kazakhstan is not included in the list — at least for now.

As before, our neighbors Hyundai Elantra is offered with naturally aspirated petrol 1.6 and 2.0. The first produces 128 hp. and 155 Nm, the second – 149 hp. and 180 Nm. The base engine is still combined with a classic six-speed automatic transmission, but the two-liter engine is now equipped with an IVT variator. The sedan with 1.6 is available in four trim levels (Start, Active, Comfort and Style), the Elantra with 2.0 has two (Modern and Luxe).

The arsenal of the cheapest Elantra includes LED optics, 15-inch wheels, a light sensor, analog instruments, a multimedia system with an 8-inch screen, air conditioning, heated front seats, front airbags, a rear view camera and cruise control. Richer versions have 16- or 17-inch wheels, front and rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, heated steering wheel and rear seats, heated windshield washer nozzles, digital instrumentation, multimedia with a 10.25-inch touchscreen. The top-end four-door also has a leather interior, side airbags and curtain airbags, wireless charging for a smartphone, a sunroof, adaptive cruise, auto braking, blind spot monitoring and lane keeping systems.

The price of the restyled Hyundai Elantra ranges from 10,990,000 to 14,390,000 tenge, which is equivalent to approximately 2,281 000 – 2,987,000 rubles at the current exchange rate. It is possible that soon updated sedans assembled in Kazakhstan will appear in Russia (before the well-known events, four-doors for our market were made by Kaliningrad Avtotor).
