Production of the new product, the serial version of which has not yet been presented, is scheduled to start in mid-2025.
The start of the “Atom” project, which involves the development and production of a Russian “green” car, was given at the beginning of August 2021. The first teaser of the future new product was published in the fall of next year, and the full debut of the “electric train” (still in concept status) took place in May 2023: we previously published details about this show car.

Let us remind you that the implementation of the new project is carried out by the Kama company, which was registered in Naberezhnye Chelny back in 2021. Despite the fact that the production version of the Atom electric car has not yet been presented, the manufacturer has already managed to collect pre-orders. Acceptance of preliminary reservations started at the end of July, and was completed quite recently — on the last day of September. At the same time, the cost of the “green” hatchback has not yet been disclosed, but the company assured that the price tag will be comparable with other models in the mass segment.
However, it has now become known how many pre-orders have been placed for the future new product over the past couple of months. As reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the manufacturer’s press service, Kama JSC has recorded 36 thousand preliminary reservations for the Russian Atom electric car. So far, future owners of “electric trains” have gained access to the user’s personal account.
Let us remind you that according to the plan, mass production of the new product should begin in 2025. At the end of last summer, it became known that Atom was going to produce its electric cars at the Moskvich plant, which previously belonged to the Renault Group (the Duster, Kaptur and Arkana crossovers rolled off the local assembly line). The parties have already signed the corresponding memorandum on the provision of services.

At the end of last month, the company showed a prototype of the platform that will form the basis of the Atom electric car. Several functional samples were sent for testing, which will be carried out at special testing sites located in the Russian Federation and China. The tests are planned to be completed by the middle of next year.

About the technology of the production version for now little is known: it was previously reported that the traction batteries will be supplied by the Russian company Renera. The capacity has not yet been declassified, but it is reported that the maximum power reserve according to the passport on one charge for the Atom will be about 500 km. Electric motors were also promised to be locally developed, and it is expected that the electric hatchback will need seven seconds to accelerate from zero to “hundreds.”
