Jurgen Klopp called for a replay of Liverpool's 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur after the offside goal fiasco prevented his side from taking the lead.
Telegraph Sport said such a dramatic move would not be considered by the Premier League, whose rules only allow it as part of disciplinary procedures.
Calls for matches to be replayed after refereeing or other disagreements are nothing new, and teams getting their wish had mixed success.

Villa avoided relegation that season by one point, thanks in part to a draw in the first game of Project Restart, in which their opponents mistakenly failed to score when the ball clearly crossed the line.
