The German tuning studio Mansory has rolled out another limited project for lovers of brutal SUVs, this time the donor was the short-wheelbase Land Rover Defender 90 top-end configuration.
The modern Land Rover Defender is increasingly becoming an object for tuning and has caught up with the legendary Mercedes-Benz G-Class in the number of various conversions. Of course, Mansory couldn’t ignore this well-deserved “British” and presented its Defender Black Edition this week. The Mansory style in this new product is unmistakable; such an SUV will definitely not get lost in the crowd.

The external upgrade affected almost all body surfaces, but the first thing that catches your eye are the widened wheel arches and swollen sills with spectacular wings along the edges, decorated with orange edging. The bumpers are also widened and have a more aggressive design, a new radiator grille is equipped with orange nostrils, and the hood has ventilation slits in the front. An LED “chandelier” appeared on the roof at the front, and a spoiler divided into two parts appeared at the rear. Headlights and lanterns received new frames. The entire set is made of carbon fiber, it harmonizes perfectly with the massive black glossy Mansory FD.15 wheels, shod with low-profile tires of size 295/30 R 24.

The transformations in the interior are no less significant: it has been completely redesigned and received hundreds of new decorative parts made of leather, suede and carbon fiber — Mansory even changed the design of the steering wheel rim, providing its upper section with a small screen and a center position mark. The ceiling, upholstered in black suede, imitates carbon fiber with its texture, and a scattering of different-sized LEDs imitates the starry sky. Contrasting orange inserts do not allow us to call the interior decor gloomy, but, of course, at the customer’s request, the color palette of the finish can be anything.

Mansory Defender Black Edition also has a technical upgrade, just a studio from the Bavarian town of Brand, as usual , describes it very poorly: it is known that the 5.0-liter petrol compressor V8 received a number of new parts (including a sports exhaust system), thanks to which its output is 525 hp from stock. and 625 Nm increased to 650 hp. and 870 Nm, acceleration time to “hundreds” was reduced from 5.2 to 4.7 s, maximum speed increased from 240 to 250 km/h.

Mans ory promises to release only 10 Defender units Black Edition does not disclose their price, but a new project based on the five-door Defender 110 has already been announced — judging by the teaser, it will be heavily cut up and turned into a three-door, in the spirit of the Mansory Gronos Coupe EVO C based on the Gelika — we are looking forward to it.
