Last month, the Q3 crossover in a new body was first seen during testing. Thanks to the available spy photos, we have the opportunity to imagine what it will look like.
The compact Q3 crossover appeared in 2011 at the Shanghai International Auto Show, it became the production version of the Cross Coupe quattro concept, demonstrated there four years earlier . The second generation of the model was presented in the summer of 2018, a little later we published a detailed review of the new product. The car has been in production for five years, and this year a restyling of the SUV was expected, but Audi has already launched the almost finished third generation Q3 for testing. What will it be like?

The body is made in the style of the brand's latest crossovers — primarily electric ones. The most interesting element at the front are the “two-story” headlights: in the usual place there will be blocks of LED lights that act as markers and turn signals, and lower down in the bumper there will be blocks of main light. The Q3 will receive a radiator grille with a traditional shape for the brand, while its finishing will be original — the rendering shows one of the options that will be offered. The crossover has traditional mirrors and door handles with a natural grip, rear pillars with decorative molding in the upper part, similar to the Q4 e-tron models of the future Q5, renderings of which we published earlier. At the rear, the most characteristic elements will be the lights, which for the first time for the model will receive an LED jumper, like the company’s older models.

It is expected that the new product will be built on the MQB Evo platform, various versions of which are used by most of the new models of the Volkswagen concern. The third generation Q3 will be the last to use internal combustion engines. The hatches in the front fenders of the test samples hint that the Q3 will receive rechargeable hybrid PHEV modifications. By the way, the German crossover will also have a twin under the Cupra brand with original front and rear parts.

Both crossovers will be officially presented next year. The third-generation Q3 will become the brand’s youngest crossover, since the Q2 model, produced in a single generation since 2016, will be discontinued.
Meanwhile, we previously found out whether it is worth buying a used Audi Q5first generation.
