The Changan brand launched its pickup truck on the domestic market at the end of last year, its name here is Lantuo (or Lantop). This truck is a luxury version of the Kaicene F70 model (in turn, Kaicene is a sub-brand of Changan; the F70 joined the lineup in 2019). The brand uses the Hunter name for this model in export markets. Let us remind you that in the Russian Federation the model is sold under the name Hunter Plus: the addition was probably needed to avoid a conflict with UAZ, which has a model of the same name. Despite the fact that very little time has passed since the model entered the Chinese market, Changan is already preparing an updated Hunter.

Pictures of the refreshed truck were published in the database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry. This pickup truck can be distinguished by its different appearance: the front part is designed in the corporate style of the Uni series. By the way, cars of this series are also present on the Russian market: we are talking about crossovers Uni-T, Uni-V and Uni-K.
The updated Changan Hunter received different head optics with narrow “boomerangs” of running lights and rectangular main headlight units located below. This model also has a smaller (compared to the current model) polygonal radiator grille with a pattern of horizontal strokes. Moreover, it can be either completely black or partially painted in body color. The lower part of the front bumper is also designed differently, with unpainted plastic edging for the side air intakes. The stern was left unchanged.
The pickup truck is still offered in two wheelbase options, and regardless of the version, the model has a two-row cab. According to information posted on the website of the Ministry of Industry of the People's Republic of China, the distance between the axles for the starting version is 3180 mm, and for the long wheelbase version it is 3430 mm (like the current Changan Lantuo). In turn, the length of the loading platform in the first case is 1600 mm, and in the “stretched” version – 1850 mm.
According to information posted in the database of the Ministry of Industry of the People's Republic of China, this Changan Hunter will receive a hybrid power plant, which is based on a 2.0-liter turbo engine of the JL486ZQ6 series, its power is 190 hp. It works in tandem with two electric motors (one on the front axle, the other on the rear), their output is 95 and 177 hp. respectively. The total power of this system has not yet been disclosed, as well as the capacity of the lithium iron phosphate battery included in the installation. There is no data on the power reserve of the refreshed pickup. Full information about the technology will probably become known during the presentation of the new product.
Recall that on On the Russian market, Hunter Plus is offered with a gasoline four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbo engine, its output in local specification is 226 hp and maximum torque is 390 Nm. The engine comes mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. The truck is equipped with a plug-in all-wheel drive system with a BorgWarner transfer case.

According to the official website of the brand in the Russian Federation, you can buy Changan Hunter Plus for no less than 3,429,900 rubles, and the recommended retail price of the richer version is 3,479,900 rubles.
