| In its native Korea, sales of the restyled Hyundai Sonata started in the spring, and now this four-door car has finally begun to develop foreign markets, among them Kazakhstan. Prices have already been announced in the neighboring country, dealers have opened orders. But first, let's remember the main changes.
The sedan has changed in appearance, and radically. The Sonata received a different radiator grille and bumpers, new headlights were installed lower than those of the pre-reform model, plus a single LED strip now flaunts above them. In addition, the Hyundai Sonata received different taillights. The interior features a curved display, a new steering wheel, front panel and climate control unit. By the way, in other countries there is also a “warmed up” version of the N Line with an even more aggressive body kit, but this option is not yet available in Kazakhstan, although it is depicted in illustrations on the local website.

For our neighbors, the restyled Sonata is offered with a single engine — a naturally aspirated 2.5 GDI petrol with a power of 191 hp. (246 Nm). The engine is combined with a classic eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is still the prerogative of the sedan for North America — in other markets, including Kazakhstan, the Sonata is exclusively front-wheel drive. It was announced that the car with a 191-horsepower engine will reach the first “hundred” in 8.8 seconds, the maximum speed is 210 km.
There are six trim levels to choose from. The initial one with the simple name Base has LED optics, 16-inch wheels, electric drive and heated exterior mirrors, heated front seats, a pair of airbags, a multimedia system with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, ESC, and a rear view camera. In the Active version, the sedan has 17-inch wheels, a heated steering wheel, a keyless entry system and an engine start button, front and rear parking sensors, side airbags and curtain airbags.

Starting with the Elegance version, a leather interior, heated rear seats, dual-zone climate control, virtual tidy (12.3 inches), and wireless charging for a smartphone appear. Sonata Style also adds chrome exterior trim, 18-inch wheels, steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters and an electronic parking brake. The High-Tech package additionally has memory settings for the driver's seat, an electric trunk, all-round cameras, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and lane keeping systems. Finally, the top-end Luxe variant also includes a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, and ventilated front seats.
The updated Hyundai Sonata costs from 13,990,000 to 19,290,000 tenge, which is equivalent to approximately 2,853,000 — 3,934,000 rubles at the current exchange rate. It is possible that the restyled sedan will soon reach Russia — of course, under the parallel import scheme.
