BMW M5 G90: new images

Testing of the most powerful version of the new generation “five” with the factory index G60 continues, but for now, using the available information, we decided to compile own idea of ​​the appearance of the future new product.

The M5 sports sedan first appeared in 1984, it was made on the basis of the second generation 5 Series in the E28 body. Since then, each generation of the “five” has received such a modification, and the new sedan, which received the G60 index, will not be an exception. Its premiere took place at the end of last spring, and for the first time in its history it was presented in two versions at once — with traditional motors and a fully electric one. How will the M5 version be different?

First of all, the sedan will receive wider fenders, not only the front ones, as on the current generation of the Em-5, but also the rear ones. A new massive bumper will appear in front with a large central air intake and a pair of narrow ones at the edges. It is quite possible that a contrasting black insert will be made in the central part under the grille, like other new products from the company — we have shown options with and without it. The grill itself will be original and will have several horizontal bars. The thresholds, unlike the usual “fives”, will be painted in body color, and at the back the most striking element will be the bumper, the design of which is no longer a secret thanks to a spy photo published not so long ago. It will receive an angular diffuser consisting of two parts, the central lower part of the bumper will be painted in body color.

The new BMW M5 will be a plug-in hybrid for the first time in its history. The basis of the system is a twin-turbo 4.4-liter petrol V8, already used in the flagship XM crossover. The total output of the hybrid installation will be more than 700 hp, for comparison, the aforementioned XM in the top version Label Red develops 748 hp. and 1000 Nm of torque.

The premiere of the new sports sedan is expected in the coming months.
