Powerful BYD Song L SUV will be offered with all-wheel drive

However, the new electric cross is expected to have a single-engine version. The five-door will hit the domestic market before the end of this year.

The pre-production “green” BYD Song L SUV made its debut at the end of summer at the Chengdu motor show, then the car was demonstrated with heavily tinted windows. The interior was declassified this month. And now the next batch of branded images of the commodity cross-country has been published.

Externally, the Song L looks more like an overgrown hatchback, but the Chinese consider the five-door to be a crossover. Exterior design features include narrow headlights with “flowing” diode running lights, an additional horizontal luminous strip at the front, a retractable spoiler built into the trunk door and rear lights designed as a single die.

1/2 2/2 < p>It is known that the SUV is based on the e3.0 electric vehicle platform. The length of BYD Song L is 4840 mm, width – 1950 mm, height – 1560 mm, wheelbase – 2930 mm. Thus, with the exception of height, the Chinese electric cross surpassed the Tesla Model Y in size.

The interior features the minimalism characteristic of BYD models. At the same time, contrary to Chinese fashion, the SUV does not have touch buttons, it has physical keys. The features of the top version are dark-colored leather and Alcantara trim instead of the light upholstery of the simpler version, plus the richest Song L has green leather inserts. The model also includes a panoramic roof and a facial recognition system.

According to preliminary data , the new SUV will be offered with rear-wheel drive or in a dual-engine all-wheel drive version. In the first case, BYD Song L is equipped with an electric motor with a power of 313 hp, the total output of the SUV with all-wheel drive is 517 hp. It is expected that two battery options will be available for the cross – with a capacity of 71.8 or 87 kWh. The power reserve will be from 550 to 662 km.

We will find out the exact characteristics on the day we start accepting orders: BYD Song L should be available at local dealers by the end of this year.
