By the first quarter of next year, the Russian range of the Chinese manufacturer will include eleven models.
For a long time, the Dongfeng concern sold in the Russian Federation under its parent brand only an outdated SUV with the index 580. However, this year the Russian company Motorinvest became the distributor of the manufacturer from China, which promised to significantly expand the line. Thus, in the Russian Federation they have already restarted sales of the DF6 frame pickup truck and the same Dongfeng 580, in addition, a new product has launched on our market — the Aeolus Shine Max business sedan. And by the first quarter of 2024, Motorinvest plans to launch eight more models.
The entire Dongfeng model range in the Russian Federation was conditionally divided into three groups. The first is the Aeolus line. The four-door mentioned above will be joined by three crossovers: the newest Mage and Huge, in addition, the AX7 will return to us — but in its freshest form.

Under the export name Mage lies a SUV, which in China is called Haohan; in its homeland it debuted only in the summer of this year. Well, Huge is Haoji in China, a major cross in the ranks since 2022. These two models are based on the DSMA (Dongfeng Superior Modular Architecture) platform, which is legally based on the CMP (Common Modular Platform) architecture of the Stellantis concern.

On the domestic market, Aeolus Mage and Huge SUVs are available only with internal combustion engines , and in the form of hybrids, but the Aeolus AX7 does not have a gas-electric version. However, they will talk about equipment for the Russian Federation closer to the start date of sales (the same applies to all other upcoming models).
The press service of Motorinvest designated the second group of new products as DFSK Seres, which included models of the joint venture Dongfeng and Seres (including the old Dongfeng 580). This line will include crossovers with indexes 500, 600, ix5 and ix7. The distributor calls the “Five Hundred” a B-class model, but we are already familiar with the cross: the electric version is sold in the Russian Federation as Evolute i-Joy. The three-row Dongfeng 600 is nothing more than the second generation Dongfeng 580. The Dongfeng ix5 is a cross-coupe that is slightly larger than the Russian defunct Renault Arkana. Finally, the Dongfeng ix7 has a seven-seater interior, plus this SUV comes with all-wheel drive.

The third line is off-road, it already includes the DF6 pickup truck, and a new product will be the Paladin frame passenger all-terrain vehicle. If the truck is the brother of the Nissan Navara, then the Paladin is a slightly modified Nissan Terra SUV (all of the listed frames are, in fact, relatives). In China, the all-wheel drive SUV from Dongfeng is currently available only with a gasoline turbo engine from Mitsubishi. However, it is possible that by the time the model reaches Russia, it will also have a diesel engine.

Meanwhile, the Motorinvest company also announced that it is actively working on expansion of the Dongfeng dealer network in Russia: by the end of this year it is planned to open up to 100 new showrooms. In addition, “the development of a central warehouse continues, which will provide dealerships with all necessary equipment and spare parts.”
