There are no radical changes in the exterior design, while the interior has been worked on more thoroughly. The world premiere of the new five-door cars will take place next week.
The campaign to declassify the fourth generation Skoda Superb is coming to an end: we have already seen camouflaged test prototypes and full-fledged branded images of the interior, in addition, the brand has shared details about the filling. Well, now full-length sketches of cars have been published. Let us remind you that the Superb will still be available with a station wagon or liftback body, while the already presented related Volkswagen Passat in the new generation has lost the sedan modification: the “German” is offered exclusively in the form of a “barn”.

4/4 < p>As is the case with the fresh Skoda Kodiaq crossover, changes in the Superb’s exterior design cannot be called revolutionary: it is rather an evolution of the style of its predecessor. The eye catches only the aggressive front bumper, the more impressive frame of the radiator grille, LED strips in the headlights and “strokes” in the rear lights (the head optics are matrix). Well, from now on the mirrors are on separate legs.

The “fourth” Superb is based on a modified MQB platform with the Evo prefix. The length of the liftback increased by 43 mm to 4912 mm, the station wagon added 40 mm (now 4902 mm), the width of both modifications was reduced by 15 mm to 1849 mm. The height of the new liftback is 1481 mm (+12 mm), the “barn” is 1482 mm (+5 mm). The wheelbase has not changed – 2841 mm. But the trunk has become more spacious: 645/690 liters (liftback/station wagon; 20 and 30 liters more compared to predecessors).

The interior has been redone more thoroughly than the exterior. Inside there is a new multi-layer front panel and a large “floating” screen of the multimedia system. As before, there are three washers in the center, but they have small screens built into them. The “knobs” are responsible for the “climate”, and the one in the middle can also adjust the volume of the audio system or switch driving modes. There will be no more manual transmission, and control of the DSG gearbox is assigned to the right steering column lever.

The Skoda Superb range will continue to include 1.5 TSI (150 hp) and 2.0 TSI (204 or 265 hp) petrol turbo engines and a 2.0 TDI turbodiesel (150 or 193 hp). At the same time, the base one and a half liter engine also received a mild hybrid makeweight. All of the above versions are equipped with 7DSG, all-wheel drive is provided for the most powerful cars.

Buyers will also be offered rechargeable hybrid iV, however, this version will now only be available on the station wagon: the installation includes a 1.5 TSI, the total output is 204 hp. The hybrid version is equipped with 6DSG, front-wheel drive only.
The world premiere of the new generation Skoda Superb is scheduled for November 2 this year.
