This month, spy photographers first spotted the next generation Patrol during testing. Thanks to the resulting photographs, we have the opportunity to imagine what it will be like.
The Patrol model has existed for more than 70 years, because the first generation appeared back in 1951. Today, the sixth generation is already on the assembly line with the factory index Y62, which is a long-liver of the modern automobile market — its premiere took place in 2010. Since then, the SUV has received several updates, the most significant of which occurred in 2019, when the Patrol received a noticeably redesigned appearance. Now the Nissan company is preparing for the premiere of a new generation, as evidenced by test samples captured by spy photographers.

The bodies of the prototypes are still hidden with camouflage film, but many details can already be seen. An even larger radiator grille will appear in front, and the optics may become “two-story” in the latest fashion: LED running lights will be located on top in the form of a horizontal strip (probably it will stretch across the entire width of the front part), and just below the main light blocks will be built into the bumper headlights The new Patrol will be a relative of Infiniti's future flagship SUV, a concept called QX Monographofficially unveiled a couple of months ago. In contrast, Nissan will receive traditional door handles for a “natural grip.” Most likely, the Infinity Patrol will get continuous side glazing that goes into the rear window. The lights will be made in the form of vertical blocks, and between them there will be a decorative insert (probably, an LED strip will also be built into it).

The new generation Nissan Patrol will lose its V8 engine and will be replaced by a V6 petrol twin-turbo engine with 430 hp. The current model is equipped with a naturally aspirated petrol 5.6-liter V8, developing 405 hp. and 560 Nm of torque. It is equipped with a 7-speed automatic transmission.

Recently, the new generation of Nissan's flagship SUV, offered in the US market under the name Armada, was demonstrated to local dealers. This means that the public premiere of the model could take place in the coming months.
Recall that earlier this month the restyledNissan X-Trail was officially presented.
