Zapashny called Zavorotnyuk a role model for young actors

MOSCOW, June 1 People's Artist of Russia, General Director of the Great Moscow Circus on Vernadsky Avenue Edgard Zapashny at the farewell ceremony for Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Anastasia Zavorotnyuk said that she is a role model for young actors.
Zavorotnyuk died on Thursday at the age of 53 after a long illness. Farewell to the artist takes place at the Pokrovsky Convent in Moscow.
“”She has done everything that needs to be done at her young age. She is a great TV presenter, she is a great actress, but most importantly, she is a great person. There are very few people in the acting community who combine everything: hard work, love, respect, absence desire to make a scandal. In this regard, Nastya is a great role model for all young actors,” said Zapashny.
When asked whether the artist remembered his last meeting with Zavorotnyuk, he replied that no, because this meeting should not have been the last.

“I remember how I met her. It was unexpected. On a television shoot, Zavorotnyuk herself comes up and communicates, as if we had known each other for a thousand years. She immediately made an impression… I didn’t remember the last meeting, because it wasn’t supposed to be like that,” – he added.

Zavorotnyuk was born on April 3, 1971 in Astrakhan. She became famous for her role as nanny Vicky in the television series My Fair Nanny. The actress also starred in such films as “Mashenka”, “Apocalypse Code”, “Office Romance. Our Time”. In 1993-2004, Zavorotnyuk played at the Oleg Tabakov Theater. She performed roles in the plays “The Bumbarash Passion” (Varya), “An Ordinary Story” (Nadya), “Biloxi Blues” (Dezzy), “Sailor's Silence” (Tanya), “The Myth of Don Juan” (Zhanette), “Farewell… and applaud” (Marina), “Confessions of the adventurer Felix Krul” (Elinor Twentyman) and others. In 2006, Zavorotnyuk was awarded the title “Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.”
In 2019, the actress was diagnosed with glioblastoma. She stopped appearing at social events and running social networks. Her daughter Anna occasionally talked about how she was feeling on her blog. She also confirmed the death of her mother.
