VLADIVOSTOK, June 5 Former acting director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution «National Operator of the Scientific Research Fleet» (NatsONIF) Alexey Melnikov will appear in court for nominally increasing the duration of a naval expedition in the Far East in order to overstate the implementation of the state program plan, reports the RF SUSK for the Primorsky Territory.
“Investigators from the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee in the Primorsky Territory have completed the investigation of the criminal case against the former acting director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution NO NatsONIF Alexei Melnikov, who is accused of abuse of office (Part 3 of Article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation),” the message says.< br />< br />According to investigators, from November 2022 to February 2023, the accused increased the scientific expedition of the research vessel Akademik Oparin by six ship days with a total cost of more than 7.9 million rubles. In fact, the time of the expedition was not extended. This allowed the defendant to inflate the implementation of the state program plan to 90%. According to SUSC, he left the balance of unspent subsidy funds of 41 million rubles at the enterprise and disposed of them. For the successful implementation of the program, Melnikov received a bonus of 500 thousand rubles.
The criminal case was sent to court for consideration on the merits. Two non-residential premises of the defendant have been seized.
The case was initiated based on materials from the regional prosecutor's office and the Federal Security Service of Russia.
