Within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Gazprombank, Gazprom and the Russian Quantum Center entered into a cooperation agreement.
The parties agreed to cooperate in solving technological problems development, piloting solutions based on quantum technologies, as well as joint research activities.
Priority areas include solving logistics problems, diagnosing fuel and energy complex facilities, as well as protecting IT infrastructure.
Quantum technologies are among the most promising scientific developments, since with their help, computing systems are created that are based on new principles (quantum effects) and make it possible to radically change the methods of transmitting and processing large amounts of information. Quantum technologies are based on the ability to control complex quantum systems at the level of individual particles.
Gazprombank has been supporting the development of quantum technologies since 2014. The bank was the first among financial organizations to test quantum cryptography tools to protect communication channels between data centers, and also introduced post-quantum cryptography into a client bank for legal entities.
“In Russia, thanks to the consolidation of the efforts of scientific centers and corporations in the field of quantum technologies, a number of product solutions ready for implementation have emerged, and the basis for subsequent breakthrough developments has been created. This is an important step towards technological sovereignty. The signed agreement opens up new opportunities for the introduction of useful quantum technologies,” said Dmitry Sauers, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Gazprombank.
“Quantum technologies are a powerful tool that in the near future will allow businesses to gain competitive advantages : reduce time and financial costs, solve problems that were previously inaccessible. We are glad that our agreement partners pay special attention to them and are open to technological prospects,” said Ruslan Yunusov, co-founder of the Russian Quantum Center.
