Recently, photo spies came across the first test samples of the second generation of Volkswagen's largest crossover, thanks to which we have the opportunity to get an initial idea of its appearance form.
The Volkswagen Teramont crossover of the first and only generation so far appeared in 2016. In some markets (primarily North American), the SUV is offered under the name Atlas. In 2020, the model received a restyling, and now samples of the second generation are being tested, which were recently spotted by photo spies.

At first glance, it may seem that this is not a new model, but another restyling. The body has almost the same proportions, but the body panels are completely new. The front part is still disguised as the current crossover, but the features of the trapezoidal radiator grille and headlights are already visible, which may echo the latest generation Golf. The sides have retained the characteristic wave-shaped stampings, but they have slightly changed in shape and are now located higher. The door handles are now located under this stamping (and not above it, as on the current model) and, judging by the photos of test samples, can be made retractable. The shape of the side glazing in the rear will also change, which will become more traditional. New lights are expected at the back, echoing the shape of the front optics, and a slightly lower license plate niche without sharp stampings on the sides is also already visible.

There is no officially confirmed information about the technology of the new crossover yet, but it can be assumed that it will be built on a modernized version of the MQB platform, which is used by the current Teramont. In accordance with current trends in the automotive industry, the new product may receive a number of hybrid modifications, including plug-in ones, and the base engine will be a gasoline 2.0 TSI. The current crossover has one, and in addition to it, you can choose an atmospheric 3.0 VR6 with a capacity of 280 hp.
