Olympic champion in cycling may lose medals, media write

MOSCOW, June 9 Five-time Olympic champion and 2012 Tour de France winner British cyclist Bradley Wiggins may lose his medals due to bankruptcy, The Times reports.
The former cyclist was declared bankrupt by Lancaster County Court on June 3 after the debts of his company Wiggins Rights Limited approached one million pounds sterling. Wiggins will be appointed trustees who will deal with the confiscation and disposal of his assets. It is possible that the athlete will have his sports medals confiscated, following the example of former German tennis player Boris Becker, who was forced to give up his Wimbledon trophies.
Wiggins is 44 years old and ended his career in December 2016. The Briton won four Olympic gold medals on the track and one gold on the road. He also has two bronzes and a silver. Wiggins became the first Briton to win the general classification of the Tour de France.
